While working as a Computer Programmer more than 2 decades ago a co-worker often referred to me as being "too stolid." Of course I assumed he meant I was too unemotional. Now I am not so sure. Look friends and relatives what I found out about -stolid-:
- Main Entry: stol·id
- Pronunciation: \ˈstä-ləd\
- Function: adjective
- Etymology: Latin stolidus dull, stupid
- Date: circa 1600
: having or expressing little or no sensibility : unemotional
— sto·lid·i·ty \stä-ˈli-də-tç, stə-\ noun
— stol·id·ly \ˈstä-ləd-lç\ adverb
Judge for yourselves yu all! Should I tell him about his Mama or his wife now? As for his Mama I will respect her since I know better. As for his wife let me say, " Almighty God help me not to yield to temptation!" As a matter of fact his wife used to laugh me to scorn and call me Maddy. Judge her for yourselves. Let us assume he meant "hard to arouse to emotional outburst."
Marc Paradis had given a party and invited some of us programmers and other staff from CDPU. Myself and Ruth Miller bummed a ride home with Mr & Mrs George Abrahams. Mrs. Abrahams walked through the gate as well as Miss Miller and I trailed behind. I heard Mr. MacDonald say, "Goodnight darling." There was no doubt that he was talking to Loris Abrahams. I didn't even respond. Mr. Abrahams came after him, like a lioness protecting her cubs, and said, "Young man how dare you speak to my wife like that." Mr. MacDonald replied, " I was not talking to your wife Mr. Abrahams I was talking to Miss Elliott." Did I make a big deal about Mr. MacDonald using my name as a convenience? Absoluely not! I never even gave that lie any further thought. He probably saved his life. Mr. Abrahams was gonna get him. Mr. MacDonald don't listen to Maureen Parkinson. My mind is on my airline pilot. The one with that unequalled smile.

What Mama didn't realize is that when you pray to God there can be no bad prayers. When I start praying in her presence it means we are having an intense discussion and I am never going to win. Frustrated I say, "Father God come down from Heaven and straighten out this problem in Jesus name. Then I start to pray in unknown tongues. She then starts to bawl and bawl.
My brother Michael deceased would do the same thing. His response goes like this, " What are you calling God into this for; we are only having a simple discussion. All you do is waste God's time. He has more important things to do."

Certainly Linley's father, the Earl of Snowdon, is furious at the sale and is now at loggerheads with his bespoke carpenter son, I can reveal. Source: Daily Mail

Zara Mike
This is Gloucestershire reports that rugby star Mike Tindall could propose to Zara Phillips after the 2012 Olympics – as long as she wins a gold medal!
The Queen’s granddaughter and world champion eventer has set her sights on Olympic gold in London in three years time. And if she does won the coveted medal then Mike has said he’ll pop the question.
The news was revealed by former England rugby player Will Greenwood. Writing in the Daily Telegraph, Will says it was Mike who was talking passionately about horses rather than Zara.
“I am surprised when he talks of ‘flying changes’, ‘rein backs’, the four-star horses, and the promise that an Olympic gold medal might, if she’s lucky, be exchanged for a wedding ring”, he says.
The London Paper reckons that Prince Harry and Chelsy Davy have been going on secret dates around west London. The paper claims that the couple have been meeting regularly at a friend’s flat so that they are not spotted out in public…

http://video.oru.edu/alumniweb/09082008_320.php
ON SEPTEMBER 10, 2009 ORU ALUMNI WILL BE HAVING A DAY OF PRAYER AND FASTING
Here's a little more of what September 10th will look like for those participating:
- Please spend as much of the day as you can praying and fasting for ORU. If you can not fast with us, please still pray for ORU and sign up!
- At the end of the day, we'd like those who can to gather at a particular meeting place (such as a home or church) in their respective communities to end by praying together.
- If you'd like to join (or host) a gathering, click here.
- As of today alumni have already volunteered to host a closing prayer meeting in their respective cities. See if one is near you! Click here.
- Click here to see what you should pray for on September 10th.
- In Tulsa, we'll get together at 7 pm in Christ's Chapel or the Holy Spirit Room to pray with the student body, faculty, staff, and administration, as we are joining them in their day of prayer and fasting too. I’m looking for volunteers who will be willing to pray over certain ORU groups at the end of that meeting. I need former male and female RAs to stand up and pray for current RAs, former chaplains to attend and pray for current chaplains, former student association members, business majors, communication majors, pre-med majors, faculty members, etc. to pray for those currently in those positions! Please email me at suzbehr@cox.net if you can help me here!
- Even if you can't spend much time praying or fasting throughout the day, please join us for the group prayer. If a closing-prayer site has not been set up in your city, you can watch the one we'll have in Tulsa in Christ's Chapel. Come back to this page at 7 p.m. on September 10 and watch our service--LIVE! This is a time for spiritual unity, asking God to bless ORU and supernaturally provide for its needs.
ANDREA SAYS: I INTEND TO JOIN IN AND ADD MY CITY AND COUNTY'S NEEDS TO PETITIONS FOR ORU TO THE ALMIGHTY MOST HIGH GOD OUR FATHER IN HEAVEN. SINCE I GET DRAINED EASILY I CAN'T HOST A GROUP YET IN MY HOME.
Flu Season Information
Each year as the flu season approaches, we all start to think about taking precautions. With recent instances locally of the H1N1 flu virus, we have reason to be even more vigilant. We want to make sure that everyone in the ORU family knows the precautions to take to prevent the spread of this virus. We want you to stay healthy. To reduce your risk, please read over the following steps from the Centers for Disease Control and Prevention.
• Cover your nose and mouth with a tissue when you cough or sneeze. Throw the tissue in the trash after you use it.
• Wash your hands often with soap and water, especially after you cough or sneeze. Alcohol-based hand cleaners are also effective.
• Avoid touching your eyes, nose or mouth. Germs spread this way.
• Try to avoid close contact with sick people.
• If you are sick with flu-like illness, CDC recommends that you stay home for at least 24 hours after your fever is gone except to get medical care or for other necessities. (Your fever should be gone without the use of a fever-reducing medicine.) Keep away from others as much as possible to keep from making others sick.
According to the CDC, the symptoms of flu include fever or chills and cough or sore throat. In addition, symptoms of flu can include runny nose, body aches, headache, tiredness, diarrhea, or vomiting. ORU students experiencing flu symptoms should consult their personal physician or Student Health at 918-495-6341.
The university has been in contact with local and state agencies to keep updated on the current status of the H1N1 virus. For more information about the influenza virus, visit the CDC web site at www.cdc.gov/flu. Visit the ORU Student Health Services Web site here.
Andrea says: Thanks ORU Student Health Services for above article.
God's message and commission to Oral Roberts concerning Oral Roberts University
"Raise up your students to hear My voice, to go where My light is seen dim, My voice is heard small, and My healing power is not known, even to the uttermost bounds of the earth. Their work will exceed yours, and in this I am well pleased."
Andrea says: To the back of Christ Chapel upward behind the seats in the balcony I remember those words. If you don't see them when you come into Chapel you will see them when you leave. There two chapels at Oral Roberts University. We have the large chapel named, "Christ Chapel." The we have a smaller chapel to the left of Christ Chapel named, Kennedy Chapel."

History Of The Russian Alphabet
The Cyrillic alphabet has augmented from Greek uncial script, using the older Glagolitic alphabet for sounds not available in the Greek language. Cyrillic and Glagolitic were invented by Greek brothers Saints Cyril and Methodius. It was considered that while Cyril may have enhanced Glagolitic, his students, possibly from the first literary school in the medieval Bulgarian Empire (Preslav Literary School), developed Cyrillic from Greek during the 890s as a more suitable script for church books.
The Cyrillic alphabet became increasingly widespread over the 12th century. During the next ten centuries the Cyrillic alphabet was adapted because of changes with spoken language developing regional variations. You can find languages across Eastern Europe and Asia written using the Cyrillic alphabet.
